August has three years of experience in Health Economics, gained both from industry and academia, while working at a small consultancy firm and for the Centre for Health Economic Research at Uppsala University. During his master's thesis, he was tasked by the Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefits Agency (TLV) to develop a method for quantifying public opinion regarding the trade-off between cost-effectiveness and disease severity in healthcare prioritization. This method was later successfully implemented by August and colleagues, in a national study at Uppsala University.

Additionally, August’s exceptional aptitude for economics was recognized when he received the Uppsala Economics Association's scholarship, and his analytical abilities has consistently resulted in top academic achievements.
