Emin Ekström

Emin has over 10 years of experience from health technology assessment and RWD studies resulting in a broad set of skills in various areas such as economic evaluations, economic modelling, reimbursement submissions, registry-based studies, literature reviews, and a deep understanding of the health care system.

Prior to joining Macanda, Emin worked as a Health economist at The Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefits Agency (TLV) , Swedish Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services (SBU), The Ministry of Health and Social affairs and as a commissioned researcher for the region of Västra Götaland performing large data merges and analysis.

Emin has had the responsibility to assess and evaluate reimbursement submissions in many theraputical areas including orphan drugs, and also be a part of the development of FINOSE and the ongoing government assignment regarding ATMP at TLV. He has a long background in working with evidence synthesis, systematic literature reviews and transferability of economic evaluations to a Swedish setting. Emin has also had the responsibility to evaluate the cost consequences of implementing new laws to prepare the health care for the next crisis and have full responsability of large collaborating RWD projects with the pharmaceutical industry, academia and the region of Västra Götaland.Emin has had the responsibility to assess and evaluate reimbursement submissions in many theraputical areas including orphan drugs, and also be a part of the development of FINOSE and the ongoing government assignment regarding ATMP at TLV. Emin holds a MSc in Health economics and Public health, Sahlgrenska Academy at The University of Gothenburg.
